Bavarian coat 1805-1815

Bavarian coat 1805-1815

Bavarian jacket or "habit-veste" for infantry, and other arms (artillery, dragoons, light horse).

All of these variations can be ordered and are priced the same, just specify your arm of service, unit and regiment in the relevant notes.

This is the most accurate and faithful replica available anywhere, carefully reconstructed from a thorough study of the regulations, and examination of the original habit-vestes preserved at Ingolstadt's Bavarian army museum. Made of correct quality (weight, texture and finish) wool broadcloth, lined with woollen serge in the tails and natural unbleached linen in the body and sleeves, and carefully drafted, cut and sewn so as to fit correctly - smartly but also comfortably - as per period military fashion.

My own replica is available graded in the four regulation standard sizes, plus an xlarge modern size. It can also be cut and fitted to your own measures (see measure form above).

The long-tailed officer's version can also be ordered, in finer cloth with either linen or twill silk lining (please specify), this item is made to measure only! The first six pics show a reconstructed coat for a colonel of the 1st Leib Regiment.
