British grey campaign trousers

British grey campaign trousers

Marching or campaign trousers of the type introduced officially for the British infantry in 1811, after an experiment made with three different kinds of "overalls" during the Walcheren campaign. Faithfully reconstructed from official texts and period descriptions as well as iconography, they were made of mixed "salt & pepper" or "Oxford mixture" woollen cloth (a lighter shade than later in the 19th century), with narrow "fall" (front flap) and plain flat pewter buttons.

Available in standard waist sizes and inside leg lengths (refer to your usual jeans size!).
