British Revolutionary War light coy or highland jacket 1768-1783

British jacket for light companies as specified by the 1768 regulations. A slightly shorter version of the standard regimental coat, in wool madder-red broadcloth lined with serge, wool regimantal braid and pewter buttons. Shorter skirts turned up at the front only, back skirts as shown in the famous drawings by De Loutherbourg in 1778 of the Wharley camp, with central vent overlap and "Tommy behind" or triangle of lace, and side full pleats. Available for most regiments, including Foot Guards, as well as for Highland regiments (see B&W pic of original one above), just enquire.
