British Rifles dolman/spencer hussar officer's jacket
Faithful copy of the iconic original officer's jacket of the Corps of Riflemen preserved in the National Army Museum of London. Exactly patterned after an original tailor's drawing and following the description of the 1802 Regulations (para 23B), this jacket is cut in a superfine dark "rifle green" cloth, faced at the front with the same fabric, the body and sleeves are lined with either fine green silk or "shalloon" (fine wool serge), black velvet collar and cuffs and black silk twist cording, small silver ball buttons. Surely the nicest, best fitting replica jacket you can find anywhere!
The photos show the very similar variations worn by officers of the Light Battalion Lueneburg of the Hanoverian army, commissioned for a dummy now displayed in the new Hougoumont museum at Waterloo.
Available made to measure only, as it was rather close-fitting, following the fashion of the time as personified the by reknowned "beau Brummel". This type of dolman can also be made for many other allied rifle/jaeger unit who wore slightly modified variations, like e.g. the light battalions of the King's German Legion, the light battalions Lueneburg and Grubenhagen of the Hanoverian army.
