French/Swiss Guards sleeved waistcoat
Sleeved waistcoat as worn until 1789 by the French Guards, and the Swiss Guards till 1763. The photos show the French Guards sergeant's version with silver braid, that for soldiers is of course with white braid, as in the last group pic.
It is made of wool broadcloth and lined with wool twill serge, false pocket flaps for private soldiers, functional, real pockets only for NCOs. Swiss Guards waistcoats are the same but in blue cloth. Pewter buttons for both.
Waistcoats for the Régiment du Roy can also be ordered, of white cloth lined with blue serge, yellow braids and brass buttons.
Available in standard sizes or made to measure.
