French Zouave jacket 1845-1871
Frenh Zouave jacket or "bolero" as used in the Crimean War, the Franco-Austrian War of 1859 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1. Also copied by many Union and a few Confederte units during the Civil War, with many variations.
Exactly replicated from original extant items and official regulation plates and description, it is made of blue wool broadcloth trimmed with red square cording and braid, and lined with natural linen.
Available in standard sizes only, being worn open over the waistcoat this allows for a good fit.
