waistcoat or sleeveless vest
Sleeveless vest of cloth. Used by most armies with minor details. Usually collarless until c.1780, then with collar. Made of white (or other colour) wool cloth, lined in either baize, serge or raw linen, back of cloth or linen. Pocket flaps generally mock for private soldiers, real pockets for officers.
Available in standard sizes or to measure.
